In response to the September 8 earthquake in Morocco, we are holding a silent auction to aid teenage girls living in remote, difficult-to-reach areas in the Atlas Mountains.
All funds raised will go directly to EFA Morocco, a non-profit that makes education accessible to girls living in isolated villages. EFA build boarding houses close to secondary schools, enabling girls to easily go to class every day and obtain their Baccalaureate degree.
EFA have been operating since 2007. They have built and run six boarding houses and on average take care of 250 girls aged 12-18 every year.
As of September 11, one student and two young alumni have passed away, one with her entire family. All of EFA’s six boarding houses suffered damages, five will need to be entirely demolished and rebuilt.
