Oil on linen canvas 50 x 50 cm (19.7 x 19.7 in.)
$2,500Alba Hodsoll (b.1990, UK) creates works in paint and ink which explore questions of synthetic vs. bodily, human vs. non-human nature. Her art challenges casual attitudes towards sex found in popular culture, and utilizes unconventional materials. Using simplified lines, muted colors, and voluptuous forms, Hodsoll's work portrays sex in awkward angles highlighting the beauty of inelegance. Through abstraction, she leaves it to the viewer to determine what the monotone forms actually represent.
EFA Morocco provides marginalized girls in rural Morocco with access to education. By eradicating the logistical, economic and social obstacles to high quality education, EFA enables these young women to fulfill their true potential.
EFA does this by building and running boarding houses for teenage girls close to schools, ensuring the girls can easily attend class every day and obtain a Baccalaureate degree.
